BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (WVVA) – The Greenbrier Valley Airport announced it was awarded 2.8 million dollars for infrastructure improvements and expansion projects. The money was awarded by the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration. (EDA)

The EDA approved an application by the airport under the Economic Adjustment Assistance Program, and the project totals around $3.5 million, and includes a $700,000 local investment.

The project includes:

  • Construction of ten new T-Hangars
  • Building of a 550-square foot meeting room and bathroom facilities
  • Installation of around 1,800 linear feet of water line
  • Addition of 3,500 linear feet of sewer line

The Greenbrier Valley Airport says they expect the new facilities to attract more aviation enthusiasts and businesses to the area, which will help create jobs and economic development. The project goes along with the airport’s long-term growth plan.

Construction is scheduled to begin in Spring of 2025, and the estimated completion date is Spring 2026.
