The UNC Children’s Hospital has been included on the U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Children’s Hospital” list for a 16th straight year. The hospital is ranked No. 2 in the state of North Carolina and No. 4 in the southeast for the second consecutive year.

“I am incredibly proud of this national recognition, made possible by the tremendous work from our dedicated and extremely talented team,” said Dr. Stephanie Duggins Davis, physician-in-chief at UNC Children’s. “Every day when we enter the hospital, we do our best to make a difference in the lives of the children we serve.”

Nationally, UNC Children’s is ranked in nine out of 11 pediatric specialties, including pediatric pulmonology and lung surgery (No. 14), pediatric diabetes and endocrinology (No. 16) and pediatric cancer (No. 28). UNC Children’s was also rated among the nation’s best in pediatric and adolescent behavioral health, a new category which debuted on this year’s U.S. News & World Report list.

The rankings were created from data collected from clinical surveys sent nationwide to both hospitals and doctors, according to the publication.
