Must read

The Village of Manhattan will hold a groundbreaking of a crucial water  and sewer infrastructure project funded by Will County ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) funds. This  significant event will take place on October 10, 2024, at 3:30 PM at the future site of the Manhattan Fire  Protection District and the Village of Manhattan Public Works Facility, located at Eastern Avenue and  Smith Road.

This project marks a pivotal step in enhancing essential services for our community. The installation of  new water and sewer lines will not only support the operations of the Manhattan Fire Protection District  but also lay the groundwork for the forthcoming Public Works Facility, ensuring that our public services  can efficiently meet the needs of our growing population.

“We are thrilled to begin this much needed infrastructure project, which represents our commitment to  working together with our taxing partners to save residents money,” said Mayor Mike Adrieansen.  “Thanks to the support from Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant and the Will County Board for  providing ARPA funds. We can enhance our community’s infrastructure and improve public safety while  also promoting economic development in our area.”

This infrastructure project is anticipated to begin construction shortly after the ceremony, with  completion aimed for early 2025.
