5 Michigan Main Streets included in nation’s top Christmas shopping spots

MICHIGAN (WNEM) – Five Main Streets in Michigan have been named in the nation’s top 150 spots to go Christmas shopping, according to a survey conducted by Present.com.

The survey was taken by 3,000 respondents who voted on the 150 best Main Streets to go Christmas shopping across the U.S. Five streets in Michigan broke the top 100, with one breaking the top 30.

In mid-Michigan, Main Street in Frankenmuth came in at #29. Frankenmuth is decked out in Christmas decor and offers German-themed shops and Bronner’s CHRISTmas Wonderland, which claims to be the world’s largest Christmas store.

Coming in at #55 is Butler Street in Saugatuck, located in Allegan County. Butler Street is lit up for the holidays and offers boutique shops, local art, and seasonal decor that creates a festive atmosphere in which to shop.

Next up is Main Street in Harbor Springs, located in Emmet County. It’s voted as #58 because it offers visitors charming shops, local crafts, and scenic lake views.

Holland’s 8th Street was voted as #70. The city, which is split between Ottawa and Allegan counties, is inspired by its Dutch heritage. Eighth Street has festive lights and local shops offering unique gifts for visitors.

Coming in at #83 is Bridge Street in Charlevoix, located in Charlevoix County. Bridge Street has boutique shops, festive decorations, and views of Lake Michigan.

According to Present.com, the #1 Main Street to Christmas shop is Main Street in Aurora, New York. It has boutique shops and artisan stores and is decorated with lights and wreaths during the holiday season. Present.com said locals describe the street as a “quaint escape brimming with historic charm and holiday spirit.”
