Sports Seriously
Week 6 of the 2024 NFL season starts on “Thursday Night Football” with a massive NFC West clash when the San Francisco 49ers (2-3) travel to take on the Seattle Seahawks (3-2).
Each side is coming off a disappointing loss in Week 5 and will be eager to get back in the win column during prime time at Lumen Field in Seattle. Both teams were favored by 7 points at home and were upset on Sunday.
The Seahawks have dropped two consecutive games after an impressive 3-0 start to the season under first-year head coach Mike Macdonald. Seattle was upset 29-20 by the New York Giants on Sunday.
The defending NFC champion 49ers are coming off a 24-23 loss at home against the Arizona Cardinals. It’s been a tumultuous start to the season for San Francisco. Running back Christian McCaffrey remains sidelined. The 49ers have a Super Bowl rematch up next with the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7, but they can’t afford to overlook their division rivals on Thursday night.
Entering Week 6, both teams rank inside the top ten in total offense (SF 2nd, 407.4 YDS/G) and (SEA 7th, 376.2 YDS/G). There is plenty of star power on both rosters, which adds to the excitement of this matchup.
