Today was the Illinois Girl’s Track State Championship on the famed blue oval at Eastern Illinois. Ali Ince capped off a sensational high school career with two more state titles in the 800 and 1600 to finish with ten Illinois state titles over her four years. Normal U-High also came away with the 2A Girl’s Team Championship after their performance today. 1A Elmwood/Brimfield’s Mya Strahm gets her 2nd straight state title in the pole vault, while Tri-Valley’s Laney Nelson comes in 1st in the Triple Jump.
In Baseball, Peoria Notre Dame advanced in the state playoffs after a comeback win. Also in Baseball, East Peoria finished the regular season today with a win and become Mid-Illini Co-Baseball Champions with Dunlap. In Softball, Illini Bluffs and Tremont advanced in the state playoffs with a big win, while Dunlap finishes off their regular season with a win, and completes the 3-way tie for 1st place in the Mid-Illini with Metamora and East Peoria. In Tennis, Dunlap and Metamora both won their sectional championships today.
