2024 Paris Olympics live updates: USA wins 4x100m heats as Jamaica fails, Lyles goes for double

Good morning! It’s Day 13 of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Here’s what you should be looking out for today.

It’s another big day for track and field fans, with five more medals on offer. Team USA’s Tara Davis-Woodhall takes on the women’s long jump at 2:00 p.m. ET and 8:00 p.m. local time; men’s javelin is at 2:25 p.m. ET and 8:25 p.m. local time. Noah Lyles will be in the spotlight again and hoping to add to his 100m gold in the 200m final alongside Erriyon Knighton and Kenny Bednarek at 2:30 p.m. ET and 8:30 p.m. local time. Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone defends her title in the women’s 400m hurdles at 3:25 p.m. ET and 9:25 p.m. local time, before Grant Holloway et al round off the day’s track events with men’s 110m hurdles at 3:45 p.m. ET and 9:45 p.m. local time.

America’s men’s basketball team takes on Serbia in the semifinals in its pursuit of a fifth straight gold. The team beat Brazil on Wednesday in a game that saw Kevin Durant becoming the U.S.’s all-time Olympic basketball history top scorer, passing Lisa Leslie. Serbia slipped past Australia in their quarterfinal game and Nicola Jokic and his teammates will be hoping for some Team USA complacency, with the American team winning the two identical matchups in the past month. That game is at 3:00 p.m. ET and 9:00 p.m. local time.

Elsewhere, the first ever sailing medals will be awarded for kite surfing, with Markus Edegran and Daniela Moroz competing for the U.S. at 9:40 a.m. ET and 3:40 p.m. local time, and 10:37 am and 4:37 p.m. local time respectively. Team USA’s women’s water polo players take on Australia in the semifinals at 1:35 p.m. ET and 7:35 p.m. local time. And the U.S. women’s volleyball team will be pushing to make their second straight final in their semifinal game against Brazil at 10:00 a.m. ET and 4:00 p.m. local time.

Sailing — Mixed dinghy is at 5:43 a.m. ET and 11:43 a.m. local time; mixed multihull is at 6:18 a.m. ET and 12:18 p.m. local time.

Sport Climbing — Men’s speed is at 6:54 a.m. ET and 12:54 p.m. local time.

Canoe Sprint — Men’s C-2 500 meters is at 7:30 a.m. ET and 1:30 p.m. local time; women’s K-4 500 meters is at 7:40 a.m. ET and 1:40 p.m. local time; men’s K-4 500 meters is at 7:50 a.m. ET and 1:50 p.m. local time.

Field Hockey — The men’s tournament bronze medal match is at 8 a.m. ET and 2 p.m. local time; the men’s tournament gold medal match is at 1 p.m. ET and 7 p.m. local time.
