It’s the sixth day of the Olympics, and we’ve got what should be a thrilling all-around final competition ahead of us.
Between that, the potential for another Katie Ledecky medal and several high-profile tennis matches, here’s what we’re most anticipating on Thursday in Paris.
Women’s all-around final (12:15 p.m. ET on NBC)
Simone Biles is back and looking for her third Olympics all-around title on Thursday as part of her redemption tour after her early exit from the Tokyo Games with the twisties. Biles, after taking first in qualifying, will enter the all-around final with a near-two-point lead over Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade. If Biles can win, she’d be the first woman in history to win the event in three different Olympics.
Suni Lee is right with her, too. Lee, who won the event in Tokyo, finished third in qualifying earlier this week.
Swimming: Katie Ledecky looking for another gold (medal events start at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC)
There will be four more swimming gold medals handed out on Thursday, but all eyes will be on Katie Ledecky as she wraps up the day.
Ledecky will be back in action with Team USA in the women’s 4×200-meter freestyle relay, which will start with qualifying heats at 5 a.m. ET on NBC. The final for that race is set to start at 3:48 p.m. ET. If Ledecky and the Americans can pull off a win, it will break a tie and officially make Ledecky the most decorated female Olympic swimmer of all time.
Outside of that race, the women’s 200-meter butterfly, men’s 200-meter backstroke and women’s 200-meter breaststroke will also have medal races on Thursday.
Tennis: Djokovic, Alcaraz in quarterfinals (6 a.m. ET, Peacock)
The men’s singles quarterfinals are set for Thursday at Roland Garros, where Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz are set up on opposite sides of the bracket. Djokovic will take on Stefanos Tsitsipas in his quarterfinal match at 1 p.m. ET. The winner will then advance to take on either Alexander Zverev or Lorenzo Musetti in the semifinals on Friday.
On the other side, Alcaraz will take on American Tommy Paul at 6 a.m. ET. Casper Ruud and Felix Auger-Aliassime will battle in the final quarterfinal match of the day.
Iga Swiatek and Qinwen Zheng will square off in their semifinal match on the women’s side. Both advanced after long matches in the quarterfinals. Swiatek was up on American Danielle Collins in the final set when Collins retired. Anna Karolina Schmiedlova and Donna Vekic will compete in the second semifinal match, which is set for 2:30 p.m. ET.
