BENNETTSVILLE, S.C. (WMBF) – Police say two people are behind bars in connection to a shooting outside a shopping center in the Pee Dee.

Lt. Shawn Lucas with the Bennettsville Police Department said Troyveon Spears and Rontayveon Murry were taken into custody Wednesday. Each is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Lucas said those charges stem from a shooting that happened Sunday in the parking lot of the Bennttsville Square shopping center. He added a victim was shot in the body and was taken to a hospital.

As of Thursday, Lucas said that person is still in the hospital.

Spears and Murry are the only two suspects believed to be involved in the case. Details about their bond hearing were also not immediately available.
