Police arrested two suspects and are looking for a third person wanted in connection with a shooting at a Barstow shopping center on Friday afternoon, officials said.
The gunfire was reported about 2:40 p.m. in the 500 block of East Virginia Way, according to the Barstow Police Department.
Officers arrived to find spent bullet casings on the ground near the entrance of a business, as well as a parked car that had a rear window shot out, officials said. No injuries were reported.
“Officers and Detectives canvassed the scene, collected evidence, and identified the involved parties as 21-year-old La Derrick Jones, 22-year-old Alex Carter, and 22-year-old Savannah Aguilar, all residents of Barstow,” police said in a written statement.
Investigators found and arrested Carter and Aguilar without a struggle about three hours later at a home in the 3600 block of Jasper Road, according to police and San Bernardino County booking records.
“Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Jones; however, he remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous,” the statement said.
Carter was booked on suspicion of attempted murder and altering a firearm’s identifying information, records show. Bail was set at $1.2 million pending court proceedings.
Aguilar was booked on suspicion of attempted murder and being an accessory to a crime. Bail was set at $700,000.
